Therapy For Young Adults & Women in Denver + Colorado
You have a job, a group chat, a gym membership, and a calendar that looks full. From the outside, you are handling it.
Inside, you are tired in a way that sleep does not fix. You reread texts three times before you send them. You lie awake worrying about money, or your relationship, or whether the last five years counted for anything. Some days you cry in the car and then walk into work like nothing happened.
You keep telling yourself it is not that bad. Other people have real problems.
Here is what nobody says clearly enough: you are allowed to need support before it gets bad. You do not have to fall apart first to earn a seat in a therapy room.
You're Not Behind. You're in the Hardest Decade.
Your twenties and thirties get sold to you as the best years of your life. In practice, they are the years when almost everything that holds you steady gets renegotiated at once.
You are deciding who you are while also paying rent. You are building a career while quietly suspecting you picked the wrong one. You are working out what you want from love while your feed fills with engagements, promotions, and house keys. You are trying to be an adult with your parents instead of a child to them, and nobody handed you a script for that.
Community stops being automatic, too. School gave you people by default. After that you build friendship on purpose, in a city where everyone is busy and half the people you meet also moved here last year.
Feeling behind is rarely proof that you are behind. Usually it means you are comparing your private life to everyone else's public one, in the exact decade when the gap between those two is widest.
What We Help With
Many women and young adults in their twenties and thirties arrive saying "I don't know if this is a big enough reason to be here." It is. Here is what we work on most:
-
…including breakups, moves, and the sense that everyone got a manual you did not.
-
… including high-functioning anxiety that looks like competence outside and dread inside.
-
…like the exhaustion a vacation does not touch.
-
…and the grief of starting your social life over as an adult.
-
…especially parents, siblings, and holidays that reset you to age fifteen.
-
…from anxious patterns to deciding whether to stay. We also offer couples counseling.
-
…especially if you feel everything more loudly than the people around you seem to. See therapy for highly sensitive people.
-
…such as the flatness that makes ordinary tasks feel enormous.
-
… including losses other people expect you to be “over with” by now.
-
… and the running commentary you would never say out loud to a friend.
-
… including things that happened to you that you have never once called trauma.
-
… including the ongoing work of figuring out who you are underneath what you were told to be.
Is this you?
"I look like I have it together and I am barely holding on."
"I am successful at work and miserable in my own head."
"Everyone my age seems further along than I am."
"I moved here for a fresh start and I have not made a real friend yet."
"I say yes to everything and then resent all of it."
"I do not know what I want. I only know what I am supposed to want."
"I dread my mom's phone calls and I feel awful about that."
"Something happened years ago and I can’t stop thinking about it."
"I want to feel like myself again, and I am not sure I ever have."
If you nodded at more than a couple of these, that is worth talking to someone about.

You Don't Have to Be in Crisis to Start
There is a quiet belief that therapy is for emergencies, and that if you can still get to work and answer emails, you should just get on with it.
That belief keeps people stuck for years.
Therapy is not only for the worst week of your life. It is also for the version of you who is functioning and running on empty, who wants to understand her patterns before they cost her another relationship or another job.
You do not need a crisis, a diagnosis, or a tidy explanation. You need one honest hour a week where nothing is expected of you.
Schedule Your Consultation
You do not have to keep managing this by yourself, and you do not have to wait until it gets worse to be taken seriously.
The next step is small. A free 20-minute call with Discover Peace Within, no paperwork, no pressure to book anything afterward. Tell us what is going on and we will tell you honestly whether we are a good fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
We work with adults eighteen and older, and this page is written for women roughly in their twenties and thirties. That said, age is not a cutoff for care. If you are outside that range and something here sounds like your life, you are welcome to reach out. Our therapists see clients across adulthood.
-
No. You do not need a diagnosis, a referral, or a reason you can explain in one sentence. "I have felt off for months" is a complete reason to book. If you use insurance, a diagnostic code may be required for billing, and your therapist will explain that clearly rather than deciding it behind your back.
-
Yes. We offer telehealth to anyone located anywhere in Colorado, using a secure video platform. Online sessions are the same length and the same work as in-person ones, and many clients prefer them because they remove the commute. You can also mix the two, meeting in the Denver office some weeks and online during busy ones.
-
Start with the free consultation. Read the bios and notice who you feel curious about, then tell us on the call what you want help with and how you like to be worked with, direct and practical or slower and more exploratory. We will recommend a fit. If it does not click, say so. Switching is normal.
-
We mainly bill as an out-of-network provider on your behalf, and our admin team checks your out-of-network benefits ahead of time so you know what to expect. We do not offer a sliding scale at this time. See our Rates and Insurance page for current details.

That is true for many of the women who come here, and there is nothing to prepare. You do not need the right vocabulary or a rehearsed story. Your therapist leads the first session, asks what brought you in, and goes at your pace. If you get there and go blank, "I don't know where to start" is a fine place to start.
